Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Operator operates various construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders and graders.
Essential Functions
- Load, unload and transport construction materials.
- Erect and dismantle formwork and/or stringline as required in advance of concrete work.
- Prepare granular surfaces in advance of concrete work, including placement of rebar where required.
- Assist with the placement of concrete.
- Assist with concrete repairs as required on new and existing concrete surfaces.
- Use carpentry skills for forming and framing as required.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements at all times.
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience operating Trimble GPS would be an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Dependable and hard working.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans.
