Position Overview
The Asphalt Labourer performs various heavy manual labour duties associated with asphalt operations.
Essential Functions
- Load, unload and transport construction materials.
- Prepare granular surfaces in advance of asphalt work.
- Level asphalt to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.
- Operate tampers as directed.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
- Raise manholes and water valves when required.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements at all times.
Qualification
- Previous asphalt experience would be an asset.
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely as required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
