Position Overview
The Pipelayer installs sewer and water pipe to line and grade along with various structures and other underground and above ground infrastructure.
Essential Functions
- Install sewer and watermain pipe to line and grade.
- Install manholes, catch basins and various other infrastructure.
- Set and check grade using laser levels and hand levels.
- Prepare trench bedding, pipe joints, and connections.
- Perform backfilling and compaction as required.
- Ensure trench boxes and access/egress are installed correctly where required.
- Guide excavation and placement to ensure efficiency, accuracy and safety.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements at all times.
Qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in water and sewer construction as a pipelayer.
- Understanding of water and sewer infrastructure and installation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable and hard working.
