Position Overview
Reporting to the Concrete Foreman, the Concrete Finisher is responsible to place and finish concrete using various hand and power tools to ensure a smooth, durable finish. This role will also be responsible for forming, placing rebar, stringline and preparing granular surfaces ahead of concrete placement.
Essential Functions
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools to achieve smooth, level and durable finishes (curb, sidewalk, slabs).
- Erect and dismantle formwork and/or stringline as required in advance of concrete work.
- Prepare granular surfaces in advance of concrete work, including rebar placement where required.
- Complete concrete repairs as required on new and existing concrete surfaces.
- Use carpentry skills for forming and framing as required.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements at all times.
Qualification
- 3-5 years experience in construction, ideally in concrete or masonry.
- Proven experience in concrete finishing would be an asset.
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely as required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
