Position Overview
The Concrete Labourer performs various heavy manual labour duties associated with concrete operations. This role is responsible for forming, placing rebar, stringline and preparing granular surfaces ahead of concrete placement as well as assisting with placement of concrete.
Essential Functions
- Load, unload and transport construction materials.
- Erect and dismantle formwork and/or stringline as required in advance of concrete work.
- Prepare granular surfaces in advance of concrete work, including placement of rebar where required.
- Assist with the placement of concrete.
- Assist with concrete repairs as required on new and existing concrete surfaces.
- Use carpentry skills for forming and framing as required.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements at all times.
Qualification
- Previous concrete experience would be an asset.
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely as required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
